Abstract:
Cyclodextrin-enhanced photothermal therapy (CD-PTT) has become a potential technique for both cancer diagnostics and treatment. CD-PTT provides a novel strategy to improve cancer treatments' specificity and efficacy by exploiting cyclodextrins' unique capacity to form inclusion complexes with diverse therapeutic drugs and photothermal conversion materials. This study presents a detailed overview of recent improvements in CD-PTT, emphasizing their role in increasing photothermal agent bioavailability, stability, and targetability. The promise of these systems in imaging-guided treatment and their ability to reduce off-target effects presents CD-PTT as a strong weapon in the battle against cancer. PTT has evolved as a novel approach that can replace or be used in conjunction with conventional methods such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Cyclodextrins have several properties that have rendered them valuable in cancer diagnosis and treatment, including complex formation, enhanced targeting, formation, enhanced targeting, biocompatibility, regulated release, etc. This study examines certain CD-PTT developments for malignancies such as breast, cervical, lung, melanoma, liver, and colon cancer. The fundamental concepts of PTT are applied to these malignant cell lines, which entails increasing the temperature of the tumours, and producing apoptosis, while more research is performed to optimize the approach for better detection and therapy.

Cancer Therapies
However, cancer treatments can pose several challenges, as therapies used to kill cancer cells are generally also toxic to normal cells. Moreover, cancer cells mutate rapidly and can develop resistance to chemical agents or radiation therapy. Besides, all types of cancer cells may not respond to the same therapy. Some cancer cells respond to one...
