Flip of longitudinal polarization in tightly focused superimposed circular Airy beams
Abstract:
This paper explores the dynamic variation of the polarization state along the longitudinal direction when tightly focusing superposed linearly polarized circular Airy beams. Within the focal region, the polarization state undergoes a flip, transitioning from negative to positive. The local orbital angular momentum plays a crucial role in this spin angular momentum evolution by ensuring that the total orbital angular momentum remains zero initially. By adjusting the parameters of the superposed beams, the spin angular momentum at the focus can be controlled. This study contributes to the manipulation of longitudinal SAM, with potential applications in atom trapping and particle acceleration.
