Coherent beam combining of ns-pulse fiber amplifiers to > 110 W average power at 1550 nm

We demonstrate a beam-splitter-based, active coherent beam combination of five large-core Er-doped fiber amplifiers in a high-repetition-rate, ns-pulse regime applicable to LiDAR. We obtain a combined output average power ∼ 112 W at ∼ 1550nm-wavelength with excellent spectral and spatial quality.
