Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) can detect changes in N-acetylaspartate and N-acetylaspartylglutamate (tNAA) levels, aiding in the diagnosis and monitoring of methotrexate-induced leukoencephalopathy in children with leukemia. Lower tNAA levels predict higher risk, while increasing levels indicate recovery.
