Abstract:
Karpov et al. [Phys. Rev. E 103, 022310 (2021)2470-004510.1103/PhysRevE.103.022310] applied extreme value theory, or EVT, to the analysis of epileptic seizures based on electroencephalographic data. We call attention to some fundamental issues related to the use of EVT in that study.
