[Comparative evaluation of oral chondroprotectors effectiveness in patients with low back pain]

Objective:
To evaluate the effectiveness of the three-component pharmaconutrient Chondroguard TRIO - chondroitin sulfate (CS), glucosamine sulfate (GS) and undenatured type II collagen (UC-II) in terms of its effect on the severity of pain syndrome, compared to the two-component chondroprotectors (CP) drugs Artra (CS+glucozamine hydrochloride (GG), Teraflex (CS+GG), and the single-component CP Dona (GS).
Material And Methods:
The outpatient records (o/r) of 120 patients (age 58.5±6.2 years) who received CP in polyclinic conditions at their place of residence in the period from September 2024 to May 2025. The patients were divided into 4 groups depending on the drug they received. The o/r on the dynamics of the severity of the pain syndrome and the functional status of the patient were evaluated. Evaluation scales were used: the 10-point visual analog scale (VAS) and the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI).
Results:
The dynamics of the indicators demonstrated the effectiveness of the three-component pharmaconutraceutical HondroguardTRIO over the two-component CP Artra and Teraflex, and the single-component CP Dona: a statistically significant decrease in pain syndrome values was obtained. There were no side effects in the Chondroguard TRIO group.
Conclusion:
The new oral CP Chondroguard TRIO has obvious advantages in composition over popular oral two- and mono-component CPs, which allows us to consider this pharnaconeutic as a potentially new opportunity for chondroprotective support of OA and LBP patients.
