The relationship between occupational physical activity and cardiovascular disease has gained increased research interest in recent decades. Studies show conflicting results, with some indicating that occupational physical activity increases, decreases, or have no association with cardiovascular disease risk. This editorial briefly discusses reasons for these discrepancies, methodological considerations and possible consequences for retirement.
