Abstract:
The Home Care Program at Zamboanga City Medical Center was developed to improve postoperative care for General Surgery and OB-GYNE department patients. This program addresses gaps in manual workflows, data management inefficiencies, and challenges in patient privacy by implementing a comprehensive digital system. The system aims to streamline operations, enhance patient monitoring, and ensure compliance with healthcare data standards. The study employed a systematic approach to identify business, data, application, and technical requirements. Stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and process mapping informed the design of the system's functionalities. The resulting system included modules for patient enrollment, automated follow-up scheduling, and real-time data validation. Key features such as role-based dashboards and clinical decision support tools improved efficiency and reduced manual errors-integration with HIS enabled seamless data flow. At the same time, encryption and access controls safeguarded patient information. Compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations ensured system reliability and security. The Home Care Program system significantly advances the institution's digital healthcare capabilities. Addressing critical gaps in postsurgical care and leveraging secure and scalable technologies sets the foundation for improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency at Zamboanga City Medical Center.
