Trial and Evaluation of Japan's Information Security and Ethics Education Through Active Learning and Videos

We evaluated the contributions of our educational model, which integrates active learning and original video materials, to students' understanding and retention of information security and ethics, based on test results and student feedback. The correct answer rates for "phishing scams" and "encryption methods" were maintained or improved. Additionally, for one question each on "security measures" and the "Personal Information Protection Act," correct answer rates increased four months after course completion. Positive student feedback suggests that this model may enhance understanding and retention of learning outcomes.
