Otitis media: seasonality and absence of association with weather

Daily infectious illness episodes were recorded for all family members in two similar studies in Seattle. Daily weather conditions were obtained for the same time period, covering seven years. Otitis media was reported mainly in children under 10 years of age, with a peak incidence between six months and one year. Seasonal variation in the incidence of otitis media was pronounced. No association was found between the daily incidence of otitis media and the daily weather conditions.
