Design of a dual-channel panoramic annular lens with ultra-wide field of view
Abstract:
In the panoramic annular system, as the field of view (FOV) expands, the diameter of the panoramic annular head unit (PAHU) will experience a substantial increase. In order to deal with this issue, we propose a dual-channel panoramic annular optical system. It enlarges the maximum FOV of the panoramic annular optical lens without augmenting the size of PAHU. For this optical system, we present a design method for the dual-channel panoramic annular optical system founded on the secondary imaging relationship. Drawing on aberration theory, we present a method for correcting aberrations in this optical system. Finally, we design a dual-channel panoramic annular optical lens with F/5, increasing the angle of maximum half FOV to 155°.
