Analysis of optical bottle generation by coherent beam combining
None:
The study evaluates the feasibility of generating a closed optical trap ("optical bottle") using coherent beam combining. A semi-analytical model based on paraxial wave optics and truncated Gaussian beam approximation was employed. Proposed configurations include (1) simple bifocal tilt, (2) bifocal tilt + polarization reversing, (3) bifocal tilt + fractional vortex optical charge number, and (4) bifocal tilts + polarization reversing in random shooting target geometries. The trap's shell resembles inverted "wine glasses" stacked one over the other with hexagonal symmetry, producing alternating bright and dark regions.
