- Data from 46 randomized controlled trials (3727 participants) were synthesized using standard mean differences (SMDs) and heterogeneity assessed via I² statistics.
- Subgroup and sensitivity analyses were conducted to explore intervention variations and robustness.
Main Results:
- WEDS-supported PA programs significantly improved objectively measured moderate-to-vigorous-intensity PA (MVPA; SMD 0.66) and subjectively reported PA (SMD 0.5).
- Improvements were also observed in daily steps (SMD 0.5) and QoL (SMD 0.19).
- Interventions using multiple partnering tools, longer durations (≥12 weeks), and tailored approaches showed enhanced benefits for specific outcomes.
Conclusions:
- WEDS-supported PA interventions are effective in enhancing physical activity and QoL for cancer survivors, with notable improvements in MVPA, steps, and QoL.
- No significant effects were found on sedentary behavior or BMI.
- Future interventions should consider multipartnering tools, optimal duration, and cancer-type tailoring for maximized efficacy.
