We achieved gram-scale synthesis of ultra-microporous COF-300 via a one-pot method and demonstrated its potential for C2H2/CO2 separation guided by electrostatic potential matching principles. Gas adsorption simulations and experiments further corroborated the selective adsorption separation of C2H2/CO2 by COF-300. And, dynamic breakthrough curves validated the separation capability of COF-300 as an adsorbent, while density functional theory (DFT) calculations ultimately revealed the interaction mechanisms between the COF-300 adsorbent and gas molecules.
