[Monozygotic twins and congenital malformations]

The incidence of identical twins and severe congenital malformation was investigated in the population born in one hospital in 3 years. Identical twins are at risk for severe congenital malformation. The death of a monozygotic co-twin is a potential cause for problems in the surviving twin.
