This article outlines the process of creating this statement, its key principles, and the rationale behind its development. The statement, developed through a collaborative effort involving an AI task force and the Alliance board of directors, provides a framework for CPD professionals to navigate the integration of AI technologies responsibly. The position statement emphasises appropriate utilisation, privacy protection, transparence, compliance, human oversight, bias elimination, accessibility enhancement, and ongoing education about AI.
