Summary

Weight stigma may increase inflammation, a risk factor for cardiometabolic diseases. This pilot study found that experimental weight stigma caused small increases in inflammatory markers like tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ).
