Abstract:
Here, we present a protocol for investigating the impact of working memory on visual signal processing on the extrastriate cortex of monkeys using local field potentials (LFPs). We describe steps for conducting a spatial working memory task while recording LFPs and spiking activity from middle temporal (MT) neurons. We then detail procedures for preprocessing LFP data and subsequent analysis using inter-trial coherence (ITC) to measure visual signal arrival times.
