Abstract:
This study explores a chain mediation model within the framework of Self-Determination Theory, investigating how employee self-efficacy and work engagement mediate the relationship between employee mindfulness and thriving at work. Data from 578 employees were analyzed using structural equation modeling with AMOS 26.0. The results revealed that employee mindfulness exerts a significant positive impact on self-efficacy, work engagement, and work thriving. General self-efficacy positively influences both work engagement and work thriving, while work engagement further enhances work thriving. Moreover, general self-efficacy and work engagement serve as significant chain mediators in the relationship between employee mindfulness and thriving at work. This study assesses the cascading effects of employee mindfulness, which, in turn, influences the enhancement of leadership effectiveness and the realization of work thriving among employees. These findings offer both theoretical and practical implications for organizational researchers and practitioners.
