Pseudo-panchromatic image color difference demosaicking for a 41-band snapshot imaging system using a dual-MSFA
Abstract:
Multispectral image demosaicking has attracted increasing interest due to its ability to reconstruct full-resolution multispectral images. However, existing methods often suffer from degraded reconstruction quality as the number of spectral bands increases. In this Letter, we propose a pseudo-panchromatic image color difference (PPICD) demosaicking method designed for a 41-band dual-MSFA snapshot imaging system. The proposed method employs a second-order Taylor expansion of the pseudo-panchromatic image (PPI) to enhance its spatial detail and exploits the spectral correlations of multispectral images to refine spatial details and suppress artifacts. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we built a 41-band dual-MSFA snapshot imaging system. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves superior reconstruction quality compared to state-of-the-art methods.
