Ultrafast coherent Stokes Raman scattering of O2 and the ν2 mode of CH4
Abstract:
A three-beam hybrid femtosecond/picosecond rovibrational coherent Stokes Raman scattering (fs/ps CSRS) technique for simultaneous detection of O2 and the ν2 mode of CH4 is reported. Over 1 million single-shot CSRS spectra are collected at a rate of 1 kHz in an oxygen/methane environment. Raman transition intensities of the Q-branch of O2 and the Q-branch of CH4 are used to determine local instantaneous mixture fraction. High-resolution spatial maps of the average and standard deviation of the equivalence ratio are generated for the pre-ignition flow field produced by a shear-coaxial model rocket combustor.
