Abstract:
A 5-years-and 10-months old female presented with painful edematous plaques on the scalp for about 20 days, which worsened with pus for a week. The fungal fluorescent examination was positive, and Trichophyton erinacei was suggested by fungal culture and internal transcribed spacer (ITS). Finally, The patient was diagnosed with 'Kerion celsi caused by Trichophyton erinacei'. After 8-weeks anti-infective and anti-fungal treatment, the patient's skin lesions were healed with scars.
