Summary

Thyroid cancer combined with thyrotoxicosis occurred in 10.1% of patients, predominantly women. This study examined endocrine changes in these complex cases.

Background:

Thyroid cancer and thyrotoxicosis are significant endocrine disorders.
Concurrent presentation requires understanding of complex pathophysiology.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the incidence and characteristics of thyroid cancer co-occurring with thyrotoxicosis.
To analyze the endocrine changes in patients with this dual diagnosis.

Main Methods:

Clinical examination of 407 thyroid cancer patients.
Laboratory analysis to assess endocrine function.
Retrospective review of 41 patients with combined conditions.

Main Results:

The combined diagnosis was observed in 10.1% of thyroid cancer patients.
Thyrotoxicosis in conjunction with thyroid cancer was significantly more prevalent in women (92.68%).
Endocrine alterations were systematically studied in this patient cohort.

Conclusions:

The co-occurrence of thyroid cancer and thyrotoxicosis is a notable clinical finding.
Understanding the interplay between these conditions is crucial for patient management.
Further research into the developmental pathways of this combination is warranted.
