[A dermatophyte, Microsporum canis Bodin, 1902, isolated from the soil in Yugoslavia]

Microsporum canis (Bodin, 1902) has been revealed from samples of soil by using the method of R. Vanbreuseghem. This fungus was identified on the ground of microscopical examination of the cultures, which showed typical macronidia. This is first communication about fungus in Yugoslavia.
