Background And Objective:
Health startups encounter substantial barriers to entry and operation due to regulatory complexities within the healthcare system. This research aims to explore the determinants influencing the success of health startups in the domains of medical equipment manufacturing and delivery of health care.
Materials And Methods:
An applied cross-sectional study was conducted in Iran at 2023 among active startups specializing in medical equipment production and delivery of health care. Expert surveys constituted the primary data collection method. Data analysis utilized logistic regression models, accounting for clustering effects through STATA software.
Results:
Data analysis revealed that a 1-unit increase in "proper business planning", "customer relationship management", and "business team leadership" scores significantly enhances the likelihood of success among medical equipment production startups by coefficients of 1.7, 1.2, and 1.5, respectively. For delivery of health care startups, "evaluation and analysis of market" and "product sales strategy" exhibited the highest success potential with coefficients of 1.4 and 1.2, respectively (P < 0.05).
Conclusion:
For startups engaged in medical equipment production, emphasis on presenting a coherent business map followed by concerted efforts to enhance customer relationships and leadership within the business team appears crucial. Similarly, delivery of health care startups should prioritize ongoing market monitoring and strategic planning for effective sales.
