Computerized tomographic findings in intracranial metastatic malignant melanoma
Abstract:
CT findings in 35 malignant melanoma patients with cerebral metastases were analyzed. One of 35 patients was neurologically asymptomatic. There were solitary lesions in 19 and multiple lesions in 16 cases. Sixteen solitary lesions were located in the cerebral hemispheres with 10 in the frontal region. Seventy-five percent appeared as increased density on noncontrast study; 22% were hypodense and 3% were isodense. All lesions showed contrast enhancement, usually appearing as a homogeneous nodular or ring pattern.
