Visible Light-Mediated Syntheses of γ-CF3 Pyridines via 1,2-Radical Migration

Abstract:
An efficient method for the synthesis of γ-CF3 pyridines via a visible light-mediated 1,2-radical migration strategy is presented. The overall process is thought to occur by the addition of a trifluoromethyl radical to allyl carboxylates, followed by 1,2-acyloxy migration and subsequent trapping with N-aminopyridinium salts.
