[Outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation]

Pulmonary rehabilitation includes exercise training, peripheral muscle strengthening, an educational approach, and a nutritional and psychological assessment. It can take place on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Its aim is to improve symptom control, exercise tolerance, and quality of life, thereby helping to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with chronic respiratory disorders. Although its benefits have been established, it remains underused. Developing new forms of rehabilitation, such as telerehabilitation, could facilitate access by removing certain obstacles.
