Abstract:
A 65-year-old man with systemic mastocytosis and associated hematological neoplasm (plasma cell myeloma, SM-AHN) received an 18 F-FDG PET/CT for staging. In addition to the typical bone marrow and splenic uptake, PET/CT also showed diffuse 18 F-FDG uptake in the gastric wall. It suggested the involvement of myeloma or mastocytosis. Subsequent histopathologic analysis of gastric biopsy specimens through endoscopy confirmed the diagnosis of mastocytosis involvement.
