Abstract:
Left ventricular assist device-mediated circulatory support and mechanical unloading in combination with guideline-directed medical therapy may lead to myocardial recovery, which may allow for device explantation. In this case series report, we present a weaning protocol for assessing myocardial recovery in 4 patients with HeartMate 3, 3 of whom were successfully explanted.
