Partial alpha-tubulin gene amplification by nested PCR as a tool for Paracoccidioides ceti identification

Paracoccidioidomycosis ceti (PCMC), a dolphin skin disease, was studied using the alpha-tubulin gene (TUB1). A new PCR method successfully amplified fungal DNA, aiding in understanding this uncultivable pathogen.
