Hemodynamic and autonomic dysfunction in symptomatic carotid artery stenosis

Patients with carotid artery stenosis show reduced cerebral blood flow during a Valsalva maneuver, indicating impaired intracranial flow. However, standard tests did not reveal significant autonomic dysfunction in these patients.
