Type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) hinder lung clearance of Aspergillus fumigatus, the cause of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). Removing cDC1s enhances immune responses and fungal clearance, revealing cDC1s as regulators of innate immunity in IPA.

- These findings identify cDC1s as a novel regulatory mechanism impacting host defense during IPA.
