Summary

The study reveals the distinct structures of mosquito endocrine glands: corpora allata (CA) is a compact organ, corpora cardiaca (CC) comprises scattered cells, and the prothoracic gland (PG) undergoes apoptosis during metamorphosis. This clarifies endocrine gland function in disease-vectoring mosquitoes.
