After skin damage, its barrier function weakens, making it susceptible to bacterial and other pathogenic microorganism attacks, which may delay the healing process. In this study, a highly interconnected chitosan-hyaluronic acid-polyphenol nanoparticle porous hydrogels (QHCPs) with precisely defined open pore structures were produced by using curcumin/epigallocatechin nanoparticles as Pickering stabilizer using the water/air template method. The pore diameter and pore throat size of the porous hydrogels were tunable by varying the solid content, ranging from 99.04 to 194.47 μm and 27.77 to 52.98 μm, respectively. Swelling and drug release experiments demonstrated that the interconnecting porous hydrogels had a higher substance exchange efficiency than the conventional porous hydrogels. The porous hydrogels were demonstrated to have good biocompatibility, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and to promote cell proliferation and migration. The results of in vivo wound healing experiments show that porous hydrogels can effectively accelerate the wound healing process. Their mechanism of action includes promoting angiogenesis, reducing inflammatory responses, and guiding the orderly deposition of collagen fibers.
