Major Basic Protein Deposition Without Eosinophilic Infiltration in Hypercontractile Esophagus: A Case Report

Eosinophilic inflammation in hypercontractile esophagus may be detected by immunostaining for major basic protein (MBP), even without eosinophils on standard staining. This suggests a potential immune role in this esophageal motility disorder.
