Background:

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are synthetic, absorbable sutures utilized for cosmetic rejuvenation and lifting procedures.
Labia majora hypotrophy is a condition often addressed through surgery, fat grafting, or hyaluronic acid fillers.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of using polydioxanone (PDO) threads for rejuvenation and enlargement in patients with labia majora hypotrophy.
To assess the impact of PDO thread suspension on female genital self-image.

Main Methods:

A prospective study involving 21 patients diagnosed with labia majora hypotrophy.
Application of a PDO thread suspension technique using 50 mm screw threads (30G-38mm needle) with 10 threads per side.
Preoperative and postoperative assessment using the Female Genital Self-Image Scale (FGSIS).

Main Results:

The overall FGSIS total score showed a statistically significant increase post-intervention.
All individual parameters within the FGSIS demonstrated significant improvement from preoperative to postoperative scores.
The PDO thread procedure exhibited a favorable safety profile in this patient cohort.

Conclusions:

PDO thread suspension is a minimally invasive and effective method for labia majora lifting and rejuvenation.
This technique offers comparable results to traditional methods with potential advantages in invasiveness.
The procedure positively impacts patients' self-confidence and sexual function, making it a preferable alternative to surgery.
