Background:

Underserved communities face significant barriers to accessing healthcare.
There is a need for innovative models to improve healthcare delivery and workforce development.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop and implement a nurse-led mobile health clinic affiliated with an academic college of nursing.
To improve access to care in underserved communities.
To support workforce development through experiential nursing and interprofessional education.

Main Methods:

A descriptive, community-based quality improvement initiative operationalized a nurse-led mobile health unit (MHU).
The first 200 patients across five high-need locations were served.
Data collected included patient demographics, visit types, satisfaction, clinic staffing, services, and student involvement.

Main Results:

The MHU served 200 patients, with 175 adults and 25 children.
Common adult visits included well-care, hypertension, and alcohol abuse remission.
Over 99% of patients reported high satisfaction with the services.

Conclusions:

Nurse-led mobile clinics are a scalable and equity-driven model.
