Abstract:
In this short review, we discuss the issue of arrhythmogenicity of the pulmonary veins from an anatomic perspective. Based on classical studies, we summarize the current evidence, discussing it in the context of the anatomic and histologic structure of the pulmonary veins and their junctions with the left atrium.
