In preterm infants on noninvasive ventilation, inspiratory effort (ΔPes) and transpulmonary driving pressure (ΔPL) show significant variability. High ΔPes is more frequent in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), while high ΔPL occurs in both BPD and respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and correlates with oxygenation impairment.
