Causal relationship between obstructive sleep apnea and diabetic nephropathy: bidirectional and multivariable

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) causally increases the risk of diabetic nephropathy (DN). This study found no evidence that DN causes OSA, suggesting OSA independently contributes to DN development.
