This study proposes the development of a new Trophic State Index (TSI) model tailored to systems located in tropical climate environments, based on the hydroelectric power station, of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant Reservoir (UHE - Tucuruí). Statistical analyses were performed in search for a more effective classification, comparing the model developed with Lamparelli's and thus determining the current degree of eutrophication of the reservoir. Finally, magnesium and total pigment parameters were incorporated in the model, allowing to determine new TSIs for each sampling station considering the ecosystemic particularities of each period, which resulted in trophic levels that better reflects the reservoir's actual conditions.
