This article provides a step-by-step guide to developing a Center of Excellence for transgender and gender-diverse populations. It covers planning and implementation, highlighting the importance of institutional commitment, comprehensive infrastructure, professional education, and patient-centered practices. Using examples from the Johns Hopkins Hospital System, the article illustrates how these strategies were successfully applied in an academic center. The article ends with an emphasis on innovation and research for long-term success.
