Intestinal intussusception in adults is very difficult to diagnose due to its nonspecific clinical presentation and its rarity. We present five cases of adult intussusception, including one adenocarcinoma, two colonic lipomas, and two idiopathic cases. These cases illustrate various clinical presentations and treatment approaches. Diagnostic tools, including computed tomography and colonoscopy, are essential in preoperative evaluation, aiding in lesion detection and guiding therapeutic decisions. Surgical resection remains the cornerstone of treatment, and laparoscopic approaches offer potential benefits in selected cases. Our cases highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and individualized treatment strategies to address this pathology.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease V: Surgical Management
Here are some common surgical interventions for IBD:
Large Intestine
The ileocecal sphincter, a mucous membrane fold, guards the opening from the ileum to the large intestine. This valve permits material from the small intestine to pass into the large intestine. Attached to the ileocecal valve is the cecum. This small pouch, approximately 6 cm long, has a twisted, coiled tube known as...

Inflammatory Bowel Disease I: Ulcerative Colitis
Inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD, encompasses a group of disorders characterized by chronic inflammation or ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract.
Risk Factors
The exact cause of IBD remains unclear, although it is believed to be due to a mix of genetic, environmental, microbial, and immune factors. Genetic factors are significant in determining susceptibility to IBD, with family history being a critical risk factor. Individuals with a first-degree relative who has IBD are at...
Endoscopic Procedures II: Colonoscopy
Histology of the Large Intestine
The innermost mucosa layer comprises simple columnar epithelium, lamina propria, and muscularis mucosae. This layer is primarily populated with absorptive cells, tasked with water absorption, and goblet cells, responsible for secreting mucus to...
