Abstract:
The incidence of intra-articular injuries associated with ankle fractures is high. Several studies demonstrated the role of ankle arthroscopy to aid in anatomic reduction, limit surgical exposure, and soft tissue trauma. It also acts as a reliable mean of diagnosis and intervention of intra-articular pathology associated with ankle fractures. There is insufficient evidence to suggest its use in all cases of ankle fracture fixation but it can be a very useful adjunct in the treatment of certain fractures. We present our experience in the use of this technique in the management of ankle fracture fixation.
