To evaluate diagnostic performance of cough plates compared to sputum samples in children with suspected pneumonia.
Methods:
Microbiological samples were collected after saline inhalation from 53 children.
Results:
Pathogens were recovered in similar rates with partial concordance.
Conclusions:
Cough plates may represent a promising alternative to sputum samples.
