[Digital health applications : A new approach in the management of comobidities]

Inflammatory rheumatic diseases are often accompanied by comorbidities, which are usually inadequately addressed and can significantly impair the quality of life of affected patients. Digital health applications (DiGAs) can help close this gap in care. They support patients in recognising, monitoring and treating their diseases and can be used in addition to regular medical care. They can also help with the implementation of necessary lifestyle changes. Initial studies have shown positive results and a rather high level of acceptance among those affected, although many patients would like to receive more information and personalised recommendations on suitable DiGAs.
