Abstract:
Goldeus pegolinus sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) is described from Spain (prov. Alicante). The new taxon is close to two other Iberian endemic species of the genus, i.e. G. dlabolai Quartau and G. hispanicus Dlabola, from which it differs in the shape of the aedeagus, the smaller size of the males, and the shape of the female sternite VII (the latter character comparable only with G. dlabolai). G. pegolinus is the seventh known species within the genus. The available data on its biology and possible host plants are provided.
