Abstract:
The paper reports a high short-circuit current density of 43.6 mA cm-2obtained in an organic solar cell (OSC) that has a device structure of indium-doped tin oxide/ZnO/PTB7-Th:ITIC/MoO3/Ag. The novel aspect of this work is that the MoO3layers were prepared using pulsed laser deposition. The experimental data analysis indicates that the observed increase is specifically associated with the pulsed laser deposited MoO3layers. Although the exact mechanisms responsible for such huge increase are yet to be identified, the result of this work shows that a significantly higher short-circuit current can be obtained in OSCs, offering a potential pathway for further improving the power conversion efficiency of OSCs.
