As a discrete molecule with a cavity, POCs have attracted extensive attention from researchers in the field of pollution removal and analysis due to their excellent solution processing, easy functionalization, and strong pore structure designability. This review highlights the design and modification of POCs in terms of functionality, stability and pore structure to meet the requirements of pollution removal and analysis as well as the application of POCs for the adsorption, membrane separation, chromatographic separation and chemical sensing of various environmental contaminants. In addition, the challenge and future direction of POCs in pollution removal and analysis are outlooked for further research.
